Youth Ministry

Feel free to drop in to any one of our Youth meetings, as listed below. No formal registration is required. Participants are asked to sign in, and if you wish, to leave your e-mail addresses, so that we can send you information and updates on our activities. Visitors are always welcome, and we also still have room for a few more regular members.

FREE, FRIENDLY, FAITHFUL and FUN!!

Youth Group is a safe, fun, supervised activity for tweens, teenagers, and young adults, with no membership fees, no uniforms to buy, and no equipment to rent. Register for e-mail updates on Youth activities at St. Cecilia’s, at stceciliayouth@shaw.ca

Young Adults (18+). Time is 2:00 pm on the second Sunday of every month.The next meeting will take place on March 14th. We will be continuing the series “Good or Evil: Who Decides?” with Raymond de Souza. This is a 13-part video series, and we will be viewing and discussing Part 3. Following this meeting there will be a World Youth Day meeting, if any interest is shown.

Senior High Youth Group (Grades 10-12) Time is 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, on Wednesdays from mid-September to mid-June, except for holidays. We have room for three more people in this group.

Junior Youth Group (from Confirmation to Grade 9) Time is 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, on Mondays from mid-September to mid-June, except for holidays. We have room for seven more people in this group.

In addition to regular meetings, all Youth Group participants are also strongly encouraged to participate in service projects and community-building activities related to the building up of the ministry of our parish, and also in events that are provided for all the youth of our Deanery and of our Diocese. These activities usually take place outside of regular meeting times, and will be announced as the information about them becomes available.

ThinkFast is full - thanks to everyone who signed up!
Youth-led Stations of the Cross, at St. Cecilia’s Friday, March 26th, beginning with Mass at 7:00 pm,
with the Stations of the Cross to follow immediately afterwards.
Your role will be to lead the congregation
in praying the Stations of the Cross.
We will discuss the details
at our next Youth Group meeting.
This is worth one Community Building point.
Easter Egg painting in the Parish Hall at St. Cecilia’s Saturday, April 3rd, from 10:00 am
until we’re done. Participants are also
needed to distribute the Easter Eggs
after each of the Easter Masses, beginning with
the Easter Vigil Mass.
All are welcome. Youth, members of the
Confirmation Preparation class, and anyone
else who wants to,
will paint approximately 200 Easter eggs using non-toxic
dyes, crayons, and stickers.
This is worth one Community Building
point for painting the eggs,
plus one point for each Mass you come to,
to distribute the eggs.

Altar Servers’ Guild - Contact Pavla Drapal after any Saturday 5:00 pm Mass to join the Altar Servers’ Guild. Members, please check your schedule regularly.

Youth Choir - The Youth Choir sings at the 5:00 pm Mass. All youth are welcome to participate. Please contact Pavla Drapal after any Saturday 5:00 pm Mass for rehearsal times and locations.

Children’s Liturgy - There are Children’s Liturgy programs at both the 9:00 am and at the 11:00 am Mass. No registration is required. All children are welcome to join in the fun. Dismissal takes place immediately after the Opening Prayer, and the children return to rejoin their parents at the time of the Offertory.
